It’s one thing to tell yourself that you’re going to start eating more healthy foods, but another to actually follow through on that decision. Frankly, eating healthy just seems like too much work for too little taste.

However, what if we told you there are all kinds of superfoods that are delicious, nutritious, and most importantly, require very little work?

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be an unachievable New Year’s resolution; we’re here to provide you with a list of tasty foods that are good for you, from fruits and vegetables to broths and dairy products. Just make sure not to eat too much junk food in between, and you’re good!

#1: Strawberries Forever

We’ll start with an easy one. Who doesn’t love strawberries? These delicious berries seem like they couldn’t possibly be healthy for you, yet they are.

Of course, they’re high in sugar since they’re fruit, but natural sugars are different from processed sugar. So you can safely eat eight strawberries a day without overdoing your sugar intake.

Did you know strawberries can reduce cancer risks, help manage diabetes type 2, increase heart and brain health, lower blood pressure, and increase good cholesterol?

They have tons of vitamins like folic acid and Vitamin C, fiber, and super healthy antioxidants. We also love how portable strawberries are; you can take them with you everywhere you go for a sweet snack.

#2: Oily, Fatty Fish

Sushi lovers, rejoice! You can enjoy all the tuna and salmon rolls you want and feel good about it. Other types of fish, such as mackerel and sardines, are also excellent for your health. There are downsides, however, and they aren’t health-related. Sadly, our fish supplies are dwindling due to overfishing, so perhaps eat this sparingly.

Oily, fatty fish are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which have demonstrated multiple health benefits. For example, they reduce inflammation and are linked to lowering the risk of cancer, heart disease, arthritis, and dementia. In addition, Omega-3s are also suspected to be effective in combating age-related vision decline.

#3: Leafy Greens

Most kids don’t like green food, but hopefully, you’ve embraced them as adults because they’re so healthy. You might hear a lot of talk about leafy greens, but that isn’t a precise term. So, when people say this, they’re mainly talking about greens like spinach, kale, and swiss chard; even broccoli and Brussel sprouts are included in this group.

So, just why do healthy eaters push these leafy greens on us? Potassium, folate, and fiber are just some of the essential nutrients you get from this superfood. These all help reduce blood pressure and cholesterol and protect against heart disease and stroke. Add a side salad to your dinner every night and reap the benefits!

#4: Eat Your Broccoli

We included broccoli in the group above, but it’s so special that we wanted to give it its own shout-out.

For starters, there are so many tasty ways to serve broccoli. We like just a squirt of lemon juice on ours, but roasted in the oven with garlic is another divine option for fans of the genre. Of course, raw with a little dip is a fantastic snack.

One of the broccoli’s superpowers is that it’s rich in vitamin E, which helps build a robust immune system. It’s also chock-full of vitamin C and the antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin. Round that out with potassium and fiber, and you have one very healthy veggie on your hands!
