Awkward Interview Moments of Celebrities That Made Them Walk Out

With constant media coverage, paparazzi photos, and the gossip mill, it’s easy to forget that celebrities are people, too. Many people think that anyone in the public eye gives up all rights to privacy and is willing to share the darkest, most intimate moments of their lives with the public.
That’s why it’s always so shocking and interesting when a famous person completely shuts down invasive interviews and questions that make them uncomfortable. Honestly, we find it pretty refreshing!
Here’s a list of surprising moments when celebrities put their foot down, established boundaries, and shut down interviews. Some moments are super awkward, while others make us want to stand up and cheer. Get your popcorn ready and enjoy these cringe-worthy moments!

#1: That’s Hot
Paris Hilton was undoubtedly the queen of celebrity culture in the early 2000s. The Simple Life, constant paparazzi photos, and that infamous stint in jail for a probation violation put her front and center of people’s minds.
However, some people had their doubts about Paris’ ability to remain relevant, even back in 2011.

During an ABC interview, Dan Harris asked Paris, “Do you ever worry about your moment having passed?” In response, Paris looked off-camera, laughed, and then walked off set.
The interview resumed after a heated discussion between Dan and Paris’ publicist. Watching the interview over 10 years later, it didn’t age well. Paris Hilton, ever the businesswoman, has pivoted and is doing just fine. She has a successful podcast and recently launched “Paris World,” a Roblox metaverse.
#2: Twilight Love
During the height of the Twilight movie craze, people went wild for stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Rumors swirled about whether the two co-stars were dating off-screen.
The two actors were, in fact, dating at the time but kept their relationship as private as possible. This only fed into the rumor mill and made the perfect fodder for gossip magazines.

Both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart avoided answering any questions regarding their “secret” relationship. One interview with radio show host Ryan Seacrest got totally shut down! When Ryan asked Robert whether or not he was dating his co-star, Robert’s publicist swooped in and aggressively shut it down. Robert laughed off the question, and the interview was pretty much over after that.
#3: KO’ed on ABC
Supermodel Naomi Campbell is notorious for having a short temper. She let her famous short fuse shine during a 2010 ABC News interview. When the interviewer asked Naomi about whether or not she received an alleged “blood diamond” from former Liberian dictator Charles Taylor, she blew up and refused to answer the question.

Before storming off, she threw a punch at the cameraman! No one was hurt, but it was certainly dramatic. During that time, Naomi always got very touchy when the alleged blood diamond gift from Taylor was brought up.
Regardless, punching a cameraman is not an appropriate response. Naomi did eventually testify in the 2010 war crimes tribunal and admitted that Taylor did, in fact, gift her some blood diamonds. Woah.
#4: Nice View, Sherri
The ladies of The View have had a few controversial moments over the years. This instance is one of the more cringe-worthy moments on record. The late, great Prince made a surprise appearance on The View, and co-host Sherri Shepherd absolutely lost her marbles about it. She was not prepared!

During the course of the short interview, you can see Sherri basically hyperventilating over being so close to the charismatic superstar.
In her excitement, Sherri confessed that she’s always wanted to “make love” to Prince, to which he literally jumped out of his seat and fled the stage! Prince was known for being very shy, so this unconsensual, sexual confession probably made him pretty uncomfortable. Whoops!
